Farewell to a Friend

The Dentistry Community Loses a Valuable Member

Farewell to a Friend

On December 18, 2013, Dr. Avrille Bow will be retiring from dentistry.  While we are saddened by her decision and will miss her presence at Yonge Eglinton Dental tremendously, we are very happy for her and wish her a healthy and meaningful retirement.  Dr. Bow is both a kind and caring dentist whose passion for patient care and dentistry is exuded in all of her activities.  She is approachable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her profession.  She is also an exceptionally giving individual, volunteering her time to charity on a weekly basis for patients in need.

In an open letter to her patients this summer, Dr. Bow forwarded the following message:

“Dear Patients,

I hope that this letter finds you enjoying your summer.  It has been my great pleasure being your dentist but the time has come for me to retire.  My third grandchild is arriving in November and my younger daughter is graduating from the University of Edinburgh as a veterinarian next June with a wedding to follow.  I need to spend more time with my Mom, children and grandchildren and so I plan to be retired by Christmas 2013.

Dr. Randy Fisher joined the practice three years ago.  He is Dr. Leon Fisher’s son and is highly competent.  After graduating from the University of Toronto as an Industrial Engineer and practicing for six years, he realized that his calling was in the health care profession.  Randy went back to school to study at the Schulich School of Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario and he received his degree in dentistry  in 2010.  I am very happy that Dr. Randy Fisher is pleased to continue to look after your dental needs.

I will miss being a small part of your life but I am able to retire knowing that you will receive excellent care with Randy and with the same receptionists and assistants that you have come to know over the years.

Thank you for making my career in dentistry so enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Avrille Bow, D.D.S.”

We thank Dr. Bow for her years of service.
