Yonge and Eglinton is Back-to-School shopping heaven and with two high schools within walking distance, why wouldn’t it be? Everything you need is here (including a teeth cleaning after a summer of candy).
Back to School Shopping for Threads and Tech
Start at The Gap at 2635 Yonge Street for some jeans, maybe a top or two and definitely a new fall fleecy. Accessorize at Best Buy at 2400 Yonge Street, just north of Broadway, and get the Geek Squad to help you out. Even if you don’t really need the assistance, it’s fun to listen to them talk passionately about technology. We learn something new every time.
Mind and Mountains
Summer’s for trashy novels, so it’s worth a trip to Chapters Indigo in the Yonge Eglinton Centre to stock up on substance for September. Up the road, at Roselawn, is the smaller Sporting Life, where you can find warm gear for walking, biking, hiking and camping. And because the first snow day is going to creep up sooner than you think, the bigger Sporting Life at Blythwood will get you ready for ski season.
Specs and Sunnies
Whether you care more about how you see or how you look, Novus Optical at Erskine has a solution. You can book an eye exam to make sure you can still see the board in class, and find new fall shades for looking your best at lunch.
The Last Hurrah
Of course, it’s still summer so keep doing summer stuff like going to movies at the Silver City at Yonge Eglinton Centre, hitting the patio at the Duke of Kent across the road, boutique shopping up and down the strip or walking through Greenwood Park.
And should you choose to hit the Ex for a real last hurrah, the yonge eglinton subway station is right here.
