You’ll notice some really fancy restaurants around our office but, if you know where to look, you can enjoy some really delicious food at a much lower price point. Here are our tips for cheap lunches around Yonge and Eglinton.
Kiva’s Bakery and Market
Specializing in hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels, Kiva’s has been a Toronto favourite since 1979. Here you can enjoy eggs and omelettes and deli-style sandwiches, all at wallet-friendly prices. 2496 Yonge Street
La Bohème Café & Patisserie
With its fine quality French staples — Croque Monsieur, ham sandwiches, soups and stews and many types of quiche — the delightful La Bohème is surprisingly great for cheap lunches. Bon appétit!

Burger Shack
This Yonge and Eglinton fixture since the 1980s was never glamourous, but it’s cheap and good. Choose a homemade burger, the onion rings or any of the Greek standards offered here and you can’t go wrong. 233 Eglinton Avenue West
Chi Taste of Asia
For all-day dim sum, Asian curries, grilled items and noodles, all at fair prices, get to Chi Taste of Asia, which also serves fine wines, cocktails and a selection of teas. 2425 Yonge Street
Zezafoun Syrian Cuisine
Lentil soup, fattoush salad, falafels, hummus, olives, fresh-made pita breads and tangy lebneh are among the delicious vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes offered inexpensively at Zezafoun. 4 Manor Road East
Cheap Lunches at The Yonge Eglinton Centre Food Court
Another easy choice, especially for a group with disparate tastes, would be the Yonge Eglinton Centre food court. Here you can get everything from sushi to pretzels to pickles, and subs to souvlaki. 2300 Yonge Street
And while you’re in the area, why not make an appointment for a check-up or a cleaning. While we do not offer lunch, we can help clean your teeth when you are finished yours.
