It’s nice to be in one of Toronto’s nicest neighborhoods for a lot of reasons, and the Halloween pull’s definitely one of them. It’d be enough if the treats were of a significantly higher calibre (which they generally are), but it’s how generous people are around here to people trick or treating at Yonge and Eglinton.
In over 30 years here, we’ve kept our ears open and picked up a few insider tips for you. For example, if you are on the northwest side of Yonge and Eglinton, you’ll want to make your way up to Craighurst Avenue (just south of Sporting Life). Apparently there’s a house that cleans out the candy aisle at the Metro every year.
Trick or Treating at Yonge and Eglinton: North East
Northeasterners know about E6 — a row of six houses on Erskine Avenue that apparently coordinate their loot so kids walk away with complementary candy.
Trick or Treating at Yonge and Eglinton: South East
Southeast is all about the townhouse complex off Redpath Ave. There aren’t a lot of kids there, but there are a lot of young singles who go all out for the occasion. One house creates a full experience. Hopefully they’ll do it again this year.
Trick or Treating at Yonge and Eglinton: South West
As for the Southwest, the word on the street is Manor Road for Ferrero Rocher. Mmm.
And if your kids didn’t make it to the dentist before the big night, after’s just as good.
