We all know Yonge and Eglinton as one of the best walking strips in the city.  But when it is –40Ëš without the windchill, a stroll up and down the street isn’t in the cards.  No problem. Our little corner of the world is full of places to escape the frigidity.  So here are some tips for staying warm at Yonge and Eglinton.
Staying warm at Yonge and Eglinton by catching a flick
The recently renovated Cineplex at the recently renovated Yonge Eglinton Centre is now one of the more cozy theatres in town to take in a blockbuster. For more of a film than a movie, head across Eglinton to the Canada Square Cinemas.
Grab a bite
The strip’s lined with bistro-pubs, resto-pubs, gastro-pubs and food from around the world. We’re partial to Roberto’s a few blocks up at Yonge and Craighurst. Best Italian in the city.
Have a sweat
The Good Life at Yonge and Eglinton is your best bet. But for something different, try a kickboxing or muay thai class at TKMT Academy, south of Eglinton at 1992 Yonge Street.
Take it in
Get a window seat at Grazie and watch the neighbourhood walk by in their parkas while you sip on a delicious merlot.
