Top five places to host a Holiday Party at Yonge and Eglinton

As Toronto locations go, very few beat Yonge and Eglinton for the breadth of things to do around here. From parkland to parking, and big box retailers to independent boutiques, we’ve got it all.

A big plus in the neighbourhood are the many places to host a shindig. With the holiday season in full swing, here are five places we’d recommend for an office holiday party, ranging from the intimate to the extravagant.

5. The Capitol Event Theatre Capitol
For larger gatherings, this space is just fantastic. It has a giant dance floor that can be converted to and from a dining area, an upstairs lounge for chilling out and a stage for bands, DJs, performances and speeches. You can have it catered yourself or use their catering program.

4. The Right Wing
If you’re looking to mix a little cheering in with your festive cheer, this local sport Right Wing s bar is a great choice. The dining room is lined with big-screen TVs, to watch the Leafs, Raps or whoever else is playing, and the drumstick platters are some of the best in the city. We’d be remiss if we didn’t remind you to bring dental floss with you, or think about giving it out as part of the swag bag — chicken wing meat has a habit of getting stuck between teeth.

3. The Keg The Keg
This location is just south of Eglinton on the east side of Yonge.  The best part of a party here is consistency – you know exactly what you’re going to get, and it’s always good. The dining room is classy but not as over-the-top as The Keg Mansion, the prices aren’t astronomical, and few restaurant bars have a better cocktail selection.

2. Grazie Ristorante Grazie
A gastronomical staple of the area, Grazie is known for its giant street-facing window just as much as its outstanding menu. Always lively, but never overly-cramped, it’s a great place to celebrate a great year with excellent Italian wine, fine food and classic North Toronto spirit.

1. Roberto’s
For small office parties, absolutely nothing beats the intimacy of this Robertos ages-old restaurant at Yonge and Craighurst (about six blocks north of Yonge Eglinton Dental). Their menu is a chalk board they bring to your table, their garlic bread is some of the best (and butteriest) in town and their vegetables are always so very fresh. It’s a tiny restaurant, but if you can get a table, that’s definitely where you should go. No doubt, you’ll be back in January.
